Key Points of Shri.Lal Bahadur Shastryji's son's address at SNIST
Well today i.e.1st of November 2010, A.P. Formation Day but it is a bandh kind of a situation for all the educational institutions in around the Telangana region. We at SNIST had a full fledged working day for the staff members both the Teaching and Non-teaching.
No regrets, as it was worth the pain of staying away from home leaving the children as they were declared a holiday.
The reason why I say worthwhile is we were fortunate to interact with Shri.Sunil Shastry the son of our beloved Prime Minister of our country Shri.Lal Bahadur Shastry. He was so candid and brought home the memories as he reminisced about the present political scenario.
The instances which he narrated very emotionally showed the typical Indian sons attachment to the parents. the force of conviction with which he spoke was mesmerizing. being truthful and generous has an altogether different aura of course sans the corporate radiance. however as being into teaching profession as enjoyed every word that he spoke and tried my best to grasp the intensity of it.
He narrated that once it happened so, when his father was about to start to his office and he stopped him and asked what is the meaning of the quotation that you have on your table. His father explained the quotation, which was in hindi, says its good to remain a speck of grass remaining green throughout the year than blossom and fade away in a short span of time. this has a beautiful message for many of us who are clamoring being power mongering all the time.
One more instance which he narrated to speak about the integrity of his father was when once he along with his brothers went to attend a dinner party in the office car, in the morning his father did not go for using any harsh words but just asked him to call the driver so that the driver can enter in the log book the 14kms which they traveled and he also asked him to pass the message to his mother, to pay the amount calculating at 60 paisa/km for 14 kms. to the secretary.
Very rare but such people though rare are monumental in their own way.
hope there is a message for each one of us in his anecdotes.
